Those annoying blisters always come up. But how do you treat them? Steps
- Ice the blister to 3-5 minutes.
- Swab the blister with hydrogen peroxide, then let it air dry.
- Cover it with a bandage to prevent it from opening and becoming infected.
- If you are hiking you may need to keep moving, if this is the case you should either cut out a patch of moleskin to place on the blister to reduce friction, or by lancing the blister. To lance the blister pierce it with a sterilized needle or pin drain, and bandage.
- Many blisters can be minimized by simply covering well with an adhesive bandage. The bandage can put enough pressure on the blister to flatten it, and it will heal better than it would have if you had tried to open the blister. A few weeks later, the blister will simply peel off as healed dry skin. This method is much less painful than "popping" the blister!
Tips
- Whatever you do, don't pop the blister, especially if you are in a wet area.
Warnings
- If you pop the blister there is a chance it could get infected!
