Heal a Bruise

All of us face the challenge of bruises at one time or another. It takes time for a bruise to heal, but there are ways of speeding along the healing process.

Steps
  1. Conceal the bruise. If it is on your ankle, wear long socks or pants that conceal your ankle. If it is on your arm, wear wristbands or long-sleeved shirts.Use a skin-colored cream on the bruise to make it look like the rest of your skin. On top of that, use a light, colorless powder. If you aren't experienced using concealing cream, you may want to ask a makeup artist or a woman.
  2. Eat foods high in bioflavonoids, or Vitamin P to help speed up the healing of the bruise. Lemons, green peppers, broccoli and rose hips are foods with Vitamin P. Eat these because bruises are caused by blood being released from capillaries under the skin. Also eating pineapple, which contains the enzyme bromeain, may help.
  3. Apply ice to the bruise. hold the ice for ten minutes. that's the main way to get rid of a bruise.

Tips
  • If the bruise doesn't fade after a week or two, or if you don't remember getting the bruise, see a doctor. It can signal a more serious disease.

Warnings
  • Try not to touch the bruise to hard surfaces or that the area subject to repeated impacts. This can cause painful spikes in the bruised area.
