Stop Liking Illustrating Blood

Some people like to draw blood - although other people might think that you are intoxicated with the stuff, or maybe they believe you need help to stop. Learn from this to know how to stop illustrating blood.

Steps
  1. If you have a character who kills, try to change him/her. Change their background and what they do, change their looks if they look murderous. If you do not wish to change the character and wish to get rid of them. Kill them off. It is the most realistic way to get rid of a character.
  2. To kill a character off, draw a picture of them. Rip it up once you're done colouring it in. Then throw the pieces in the bin. If you want to draw a bloody death, do it, and as for all your past pictures of your character, if they're not bloody, keep them, if they are get rid of them, this article is to stop you from liking to illustrate blood!
  3. If you see pictures on deviantART or elsewhere showing you how to draw blood, and a character of yours comes to mind, don't think of crossing the two together. It'll only bring you back to drawing blood again.
  4. If you have a red pen, make a mental note to yourself that you should only use it for underlining (if you're allowed to in school) or anytihng else BUT blood.
  5. If you have to, hide all red pens until you think you have stopped the want to draw blood.
  6. Avoid watching bloody programmes, if you think a bloody scene is about to come on, leave the room or mute the programme and close your eyes, imagine something else that could be happening instead, but don't make it gory. Also, you could get the cut version of your show/movie.
  7. Heavy metal music helps drawing bloody scenes and fights, if it inspires you to do so, don't listen to it unless you feel you can draw listening to it without drawing bloody scenes.
  8. Think of a time you bled a lot. Were you scared? You probably were, knowing the possibilites that were happening. Now imagine your character having to have an injury like that on paper, do you think they'd like it if they were real? Think about it.
  9. Don't think violent thoughts, and if your friends or someone else is having a conversation about blood or gore or about "that awesome gory film last night" try to avoid the conversation polietly, saying you have to go somewhere or something. Make up an excuse to go.
  10. Good luck in trying to stop. For those who have been drawing it for a long time, it will take some time. Good luck to you.
