Do fixed braces hurt ?

It only hurts when you chew or eat.

There's no need to worry honestly. I'm getting mine today and i can assure they won't badly hurt but they will slightly as your teeth are moving just take pain relief!!! The pain will last 1 week MAX but possibly 2 days, the pain relief will help!!!

No, unless your teeth are extremely crooked, it should not be painful. The "pain" would last about 2 weeks for extremely crooked teeth, and slightly unaligned teeth would be around 3 days to a week.
It's nothing to be worried about and usually, it's just a discomfort or slight stinging soreness.
Your teeth will feel tight from the sire pulling, but that's about it.

Putting it on doesnt hurt. Tightening really hurts for 4-5 days afterwards and they will tighten it every month or so. Its a big pain at first but after about 2 weeks you wont feel i any more (apartfrom the tightening).
Ask your dentist for wax.
Dont worry its really not a big deal, and soon it will be over with and you will have a beautiful smile! Good luck and dont worry!
