Waiting to be Diagnosed and start getting some medicine?
July/4 I noteced bump under my armpit. Could not wait the morning to see my doctor. After blood test, come back negative. WBC normal, plattlets normal. But Ultrasound were corncerned some kind of metatistic desease like Lymphoma.
I was sent to Hospital and took another blood test ...some again. Aug20 I had Biopsy done. By that time I developed some extra symtoms like tender scalp, and teary eyes. The biopsy come back sept5 we suspect it is lymphoma. The Oncoligist said he deos not treat suspect. The patholigist very respectable hospital are not sure after all. that is my story

Listen and listen good!!!!! I had the same symptoms and i got the same run around so I ventured 1500 miles to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnisota and in three days was diagnosed with Lymphomascistic Lymphoma.. I went for treatment right away and that was in April 07... After 6 bouts with Chemo I am now in remission.. Do Not Delay... Good luck and God bless.. Grant M in Pennsylvania... Go to Mayoclinic.com all the help you need will be found there

Go to another doctor and get more tests. I had a biopsy come back negative when I actually had stage three breast cancer.

I don't say that to scare you--but if you feel like you have a serious problem you need to keep getting tests until you feel sure about the results.

I am unsure which country you are from, but in the US a patient can ask for a second or third opinion for a pathology report. If it is possible that is what you should do . . ask for a second opinion and be persistent. You need a diagnosis.

Best wishes to you. Stay strong.

This is your body here..
You know that something isn't right - Yes, you ahve had tests and the results are sort of up in the air due to dr not sure re results..
As i said - Your body.. NOT ahppy with the result.. Go to another hospital - another dr - jump up and down and demand more tests - tell them you want answers..
It maybe nothing - But then again it might - Knowing now can get treatment started sooner then later..

good luck

If it is suspect then it can also be something else.. That is what the doctor is trying to get at.. There is a possibility that it is just an infection.. Have they treated you with antibiotics?

You may want to see another doctor and have him test also.. You could ask the doctors you have already seen what he feels the issue is and if he will run the same tests again.

Dont think it is the worse because sometimes it isnt.. Keep your chin up...

Note:
*** I am a thyroid cancer survivor.. I saw 15 different doctors at 5 different hospitals before they diagnosed what was wrong.. Just be persistant and dont give up....

You say "we suspect it is lymphoma" yet the pathologist is not sure after biopsy. Who are you meaning by "we"? Is this you and your family or medical professionals?

Your oncologist, quite rightly, is not starting treatment until he knows what to treat.

Treatment for any cancers can be very hard on the body, and can leave the patient open to other diseases. They vary widely dependant on exact diagnosis.

What sort of follow up testing/biopsy is your oncologist recommending?

Where cancer is suspected, most oncologists/doctors will organise testing as quickly as possible, to enable them to start correct treatment as soon as possible.

If the biopsy sample was small, it can be hard for the pathologist to make a diagnosis. This is often the case with an 'FNA'-a Fine Needle Aspiration. Sometimes it is necessary to take the lymph node out in order to make a final decision about what it is.

Please ask for another reading or another biopsy. You and your doctor need to be sure about this.
