Help Find a Missing Person

When someone goes missing every effort must be used to find them.

Steps
  1. Have the local police file a missing person report The importance of the first 48 hours rule can not be overstated. Make sure a photo is provided to the authorities along with license number of vehicles.Provide last know location if possible. The police will also be able to investigate credit/debit card activity.
  2. Have the cell phone number of the missing individual tracked for last record of activity. If the cell phone has GPS capabilities this is a bonus tool. Sometimes a waiver must be signed with the cell phone provider to allow for tracking.
  3. If the person is in a known vehicle check to see if that also can be GPS tracked.
  4. Encourage postings on all local and surrounding state missing person data bases. TV stations and Radio stations may be enlisted.
  5. Use the Internet. Send e mails with a photo and info to everyone in the vicinity that you know or that might know someone else in the primary search area, Think of the 6 degrees of separation idea.
  6. Do anything you can think of to increase the population's awareness of the situation, Remember the more eyes looking the sooner the resolution.
