It's both you can have either kind or both together!! You need antibiotics for the bacterial infection and respitory aids. I'm wheezing all this week and hoping I don't get it or have it!

Pneumonia is Fluid in the lungs, it can be cause by Bacterial as well as viral factors andcan be a bi product of various inflamations , such as mesothiemioma, smoking, influenza, as well as fluid build up in the body such as would be the case in inhaling various airborn irritants like mustard or other Biohazards ,or when the body begins to shut down asin chronic heart problems , etc... If your showing signs of infection, chronic coughing , nasty colored flem and mucus, fever then you need to see your doctor

Livingstrong
Pneumonia could be both, but the bacterial pneumonia is the most common one. There is cure for it of course, with proper antibiotics prescribed by a medical doctor and other measures like good nutrition and rest.

brex_13
it's Bacterial. Yes there is a cure usually antibiotics and plenty of rest you also must drink lots of water.
