If the hospital put it off for another 2 weeks, then they deemed it not an emergency. But it's always good to ask doctors.

At worst, it could be a tumor. At the least, it could be an error on the part of the xray; a simple misenterpretation. It's best you ask a good doctor. The doctor will tell you what you need to know and most importantly put you at peace of mind.

This could be nothing at all or the worst of the worst! Sometimes the xrays show things like that and scare the crap out of you for nothing at all or it could be scare tissue from past pneumonia. Getting in to see a specialist is very hard since they are in such high demand. Good luck and keep thinking positive you may be worried over nothing at all!

well...thickening is scarring...usually from asbestos or some other irratant.......i suppose thsi could be from sarcoid, but i am not sure....good luck........

it means you need to ask the doctor to qualify "thickening" as there is no medical disease by that term. think of thickening as a calous on your hand, the tissue is sort of tougher. many conditions can cause thickening, what you want to know is why, and what can be done, or if anything needs to be done. many answers so far are just fluff, by people with some half baked medical misknowledge.

Don't get too worried, I think you gotta to wait for the qualifed opinion of the doctor, having amateur views can be very distrurbing - and wrong.
