I'm a college student too so I know how it is. I just got on a dental discount plan. It's really great and the savings are up to 80%. I've been telling everyone about it. Just so happy I can finally afford to get my teeth worked on. The plan is only $11.95 a month. The phone # is 1-800-784-1719 web address http://everyonebenefits.com/tlawrence

Yes, as long as you have no other income you can apply for an exemption certificate by using a HC1 form. It can be requested from here:

been 2 years since i was a student but...

you need to fill in an excemption form. it also works for prescriptions and even prescribed wigs! if approved they last for a year. nhs dentists should have one. nhs 24 can give you details of local nhs dentists if u don't have one in mind.

whether or not you are accepted depends on a few variables including your income/outgoings and the income of any partner you live with. as a student you should be fine on those accounts. you can claim baack money if you get a receipt.

your nhs dentists should fill you in on all details anyway.

You can..but it is means tested. Ul be asked to pay and then get a form to claim back...or you can get an exemption form before hand which is means tested and then it will be paid for!
if you get exemption form you can also claim for prescriptions and opticians too.

its hard to get the full amount covered though. but your health is importnat so you need to take care of urself!
