Remove Ear Wax from a Hearing Aid

Do you wear a hearing aid behind your ear? Do you have trouble removing the ear wax that inevitably gets on it? Here's an easy way to get the job done.

Steps
  1. Detach the ear piece and tube from the electronics.
  2. Make a cleaning bath solution from false tooth cleaner; a tablet is best. (After all, some people with hearing aids also have false teeth.)
  3. Soak the ear piece, and the tube if you wish.
  4. Let them air dry.
  5. Reassemble the hearing aid.

Tips
  • This method is recommended on the Phonak web site - they are hearing aid manufacturers.

Warnings
  • Do not use this method on a hearing aid that's worn in the ear.
