Get Your Orthotics to Stop Squeaking

If you wear orthotic inserts in your shoes, you may experience that the hard plastic creates an annoying squeaking noise when you walk. This noise can prove to be aggravating to you and those around you, but it can easily be prevented.

Steps
  1. Remove the orthotic insert from your shoe.
  2. Sprinkle foot powder inside your shoe.
  3. Rub the foot powder around your shoe in the area the hard plastic contacts the nylon or leather.
  4. Insert the orthotic in the shoe and walk around on it. If the sound is gone, you're all set. If the noise is still there, proceed to the next step.
  5. Remove the orthotic from your shoe again, and rub hand lotion on the hard plastic of the insert.
  6. Place the orthotic back in your shoe, and walk quietly!
