Soothe Tired Eyes and Wake Up

Ever woken up and felt like your eyes weighed 500 lbs? Use these tips to wake up easier. Steps
- Turn off any harsh lights. It'll make it easier for your eyes to focus.
- Wash your face with cold water.
- Run cold water over a small towel big/small enough for your face. Squeeze it out completely and fold it accordian style.
- Relax on a bed or sofa. Lay the towel over your eyes, so it's covering both of them.
- Take it off after 2-7 minutes. Your eyes will feel loads better.
- Stretch to increase blood circulation and to ease any soreness or cramps.
- Listen to upbeat music that you enjoy.
- Exercise moderately to increase blood flow.
- Eat something with a little "zing" in it. (See tips section for details.)
Tips
- Eating oranges or lemons, peppers (i.e.: in an omelet), etc. can help further stimulate the senses. You can also try eating more colorful foods, as they tend to be fresher, have more nutritional value, and taste better.
- Color psychology can play a role in your morning routine as well. Dressing in orange increases metabolism but yellow can cause eye fatigue and make you more irritable.
Warnings
- Caffeine and sugar may seem like a good quick fix, but in the long run, it dehydrates you, makes you more tired, and makes you more chemically dependent on this convenient "quick fix."
