Blink Well

Blinking well is a task that requires extreme skill, persistence, and focus. Believe it or not, but many people are incapable of advanced and controlled blinking. Follow these steps to ensure a safe and happy life of blinking. Good luck!

Steps
  1. Exercise your eyes.
  2. Make sure your eyes are fully exercised, and then you can start!
  3. Time your blinking. The average blinking rate is 10 blinks per minute (for infants, only a few times a minute).
    • If your blinking is a little more than this, don't worry! You may just be a little over the average. However, if your blinking is over 100 blinks for a minute, a doctor may be needed. A very low blinking rate may be related to Parkinson's disease. However, the stare of patients with the disease is very noticeable, and if nobody's mentioned anything about it, you're probably fine.
    • When staring or focusing at an object for a long time, blinking will reduce to only 3 to 4 times a minute.
    • If your blinking seems fine, then you're doing great!
    • If your blinking is noticeably low, or noticeably high, see a doctor.
    • See the tips and warnings for additional steps towards good blinking!

Tips
  • Have a blinking buddy to help you time your blinking while you are doing everyday things, like chores or walking.
  • Don't blink too hard or too lightly.
  • Adjust your lighting so it is not causing irregular blinking.

Warnings
  • Make sure there are no sharp items in your eyes while you blink.
  • Don't over-blink.
