DON'T DO IT! The doctors are trained professionals. they will take it off when the time comes. Just because you can walk on it doesnt mean its fully healed. The bone might still be weak and you could break it again.

Don't know what type of cast you have..if you have the plaster or the newer one?..fiberglass..don't saw it off..because, while you think you can walk without it?..You will probably break it just as you start to walk..those muscles need to be exercised right...why they will usually put a boot on afterward that can be taken off only at bedtime..they wouldn't let me..(because I have been known to sleep walk)..and I had to wear it for several weeks...it is an air cast..so, please follow your doctors orders..if it is itching?..get you a fly swatter and you can almost always use it to keep from itching so bad...Good Luck and God Bless....

I sure wouldn't! How do you really know it's ready to come off? Only a doctor can make that judgement. Besides, what if you slip and cut your leg open?

You can but you shouldn't until you get x rays. Maybe you feel that you can totally walk on it because the cast is supporting you. But you should wait. Unless you want another visit to he emergency.
