Treat Flea Bites

These bites are nasty, so read this article and these irriting bites shall be no more! Fleas are pests and the bites are horrendous as the bites are incredibly itchy and by itching it makes the whole scenario worse. So therefore the next steps are those which show how to treat flea bites rather than take any unnecessary action.


Steps
  1. Wash the area of the flea bite in hot soapy water as soon as possible. This will ensure that any excess dirt or bacteria is removed from the bite at once.
  2. Scrub the area with a washcloth, which will help remove other fleas that might be on your skin in the area where you were bitten, so therefore the remaing fleas cannot do any further damage.
  3. Relieve minor swelling by putting ice on the area: Apply ice for 10 minutes; remove it for 10 minutes; apply again if necessary.
  4. Apply hydrocortisone cream to the area of the bite to relieve itching, this is an excellent product for the treatment of flea bites and it is found easily in pharmacies.
  5. Take an oral antihistamine if you're still itchy, which will reduce the allergic reaction that your body is having to the bite.



Warnings
  • If you scratch your bites, bleeding will occur and there is a possible occurrence of infection.
  • While most people do not have a severe reaction to flea bites, some people will. If you or someone else has a severe reaction that includes swelling of the face or tightness in the throat, consult a doctor right away.
