Tell Whether a Home Remedy Works or Not
|
Throughout the world there are many home remedies that are said to cure a certain disease. Although eventually every home remedy has to be judged in his own right, some generalisations can be made. Steps
- Know that when there are many remedies for one disease, none of them is likely to work. When a sickness has just one popular cure, it is likely to be a good one. This is because when there is a cure that is effective other home remedies are not needed.
- Learn that disgusting remedies are likely to actually harm. These home remedies may involve rotting meat, eating animals that would otherwise not been eaten, and animal or human excrements.
- Understand that when the cure resembles the disease it is not likely to be of help. E.g. using the red bright yesca mushroom will not cure a nosebleed.
- Know that when the cure for a specific disease makes use of specific parts of specific plants it may actually help. A large proportion of modern medicines are derived from these plants. (The plants themselves are often not needed any more because we know how to make the effective compound chemically).
- Learn that some people, predominately in the Western world believe that the use of plants or herbal tea is always a ‘safe’ home remedy. This is not the case at all. Plants can be very poisonous.
- Homeopathic cures will not work beyond the power of belief. (If you don't believe in them, they won't work).
