Clean Air Queen
Have you ever considered getting a good air purification system in your home. You can even try a small portable unit to help clear the air, it may reduce the severity of the attacks and help with breathing. I personally have an Austin Air Purifier and it is great - well worth the price. www.austinair.com or www.thecleanaircompany.com

always have a fully charged cell phone so that you can call 911. take a CPR First Aid class thru the Red Cross or local ambulance service. advise your friend to follow up with his pulmonologist if the current meds aren't working.

Check with your doctor. He may need to be prescribed for a respiratory device to help with breathing. A new product on the market called "Cough Assist" helps remove bronchial secretions and may provide some relief.

Asthma attacks occur when an asthmatic has a response to any environmental or emotional trigger. This causes inflammation of the airways, and overproduction of mucous in the airways, making breathing difficult to impossible. If someone has an asthma attack, it is important to stop the attack quickly so normal breathing can resume and oxygen can be delivered throughout the body
