My friends say that I look better without my glasses on...?
My friends say that I look ALOT better without my glasses on, so I went to costco to try on contacts. I just couldn't get close to my eye without me freaking out. Is there anything I can do to get used to having things close to my eye so I can actually attemp wearing contacts again?

Are you a germaphobe? It's okay if you are. Just wash your hands and let your eye roll back while putting in the contact. You may wish to practice having something in your eye with drops or simply holding your (clean) cupped hand filled with warm (WARM not hot or cold) water to your open eye. First your eye should be closed then open while in water. Ta-da!

u just have to give it a go pal! do you want to look good?

I used to be like that, but now I can wear contacts.

Wash your hands and look in the mirror. Look up, and pull down your bottom eyelid. Touch your eye with your finger and take it out. Do this about 3 times for 2 days, then 4 for the next day, and 5 for the next day, etc etc. for about a week. You should be able to put your contacts in next time your try.

Remember: BE PATIENT! It took me 40 minutes to put in my first contact lens, and then 20 minutes for the second! Now, after about a year, i can get them in in just seconds!

GOOD LUCK!!!

YES. Spend a week getting used to touching your eye. Always make sure that you have washed your hands very well. Stand in front of the mirror and with one hand open your eye, then very gently use your index finger of the other hand and lightly touch your eye. It has a protective coating, so as long as you are making sure your hands are clean and you are not poking your finger into your eye it is safe, and it will get you used to the sensation of something touching your eye. It will also help you with putting your contacts in and taking them out again. Make sure you get an appointment with a eye doctor for an eye exam and contact lens fitting. There are a bunch of variables involved and there is no way that you are going to properly fit yourself. Your script for contacts is different than it is for glasses, so you can not get a script based on your current glasses script. Best of luck!

When you put a contact in, it just feels like something wet is in your eye. So buy some eye drops and practice putting them in your eyes. And then when you're used to the feeling, try using the contacts again.
