Is Breast Cancer is heriditary? From what stage of the family?

poolshtr79
Yes, they say it skips generations.

ssmindia
It is not breast cancer but cancer in general is heriditary in nature i.e if a father has stomach cancer the daughter could get breast cancer the reason being most of the bodies have inert cancer cells and these are given to children through genes and these could trigger on at any point of time resuting in cancer.

james b
honestly i think it is beacuse my friends grandmother had it and then her mother was diagnosed with it a few monthes ago and i know in my family there have been several generations with the same kind of cancer

Yes it is, some even have a genetic preposition. If you mother had breast cancer at the age of 50, get your check ups at the age of 40. Ten years earlier. read more at source how to prevent breast cancer.
