Remove a Stuck Tongue from a Frozen Surface

Don't lick that frozen pole! If you or someone you know (or even someone you don't) manages to get stuck in this situation, here's how to get that tongue loose.

Steps
As the Victim
  1. Don't panic. After licking the pole a person will more than likely be frantic. You will serve as the calm voice talking them through this unfortunate incident.
  2. Yell at someone nearby or kick your foot against the pole to get someone's attention. If no one is around, it is up to you to act fast. Follow the directions below, if possible.
As the Bystander
  1. Get some warm water.
  2. Pour the warm water over the person's tongue quickly.

Tips
  • Don't try to pull your tongue away.
  • Make sure the water is not too hot or you burn their tongue.
  • If you are unable to reach water, try using your breath. (As if you were trying to warm up your hands, but breathe on your tounge and the surface instead.)

Warnings
  • Never put your tongue anywhere near a frozen pole.
  • If you find someone in this situation, be kind and helpful.
  • Tongues and frozen poles cause a LOT of pain.
