How can it be that you can cut your knee without damaging your tights?
I always remember as a little girl in school, that if I fell over in the playground I would so often cut my knees without putting a hole in the tights I was wearing. I was always confused about how this happened, as surely your skin is stronger than cotton, and would have to rip the tights before it got to my skin anyway. I'd forgotten about this until yesterday, so decided to ask a question, for my five-year-old-self's sake :)

The material that your tights are made has more flexibility than your skin. If is was a true cut it would also cut your tights. More often than not what people call a cut isn't a cut but more of a rip of tear I
