Why are Doctors "practising" medicine in hospitals. Do they not learn how to do it at University?
If i was ever in hospital, I wouldn't want a Doctor who was "practising". I'd want one who knew what the fcuk he was doing. Let's see who answers this one seriously...

It's illegal to test most medical procedures on animals so they use humans as guinea pigs... Seriously, they have to practice somewhere and they always have a "real" doctor there to help them.

What a tangled web we weave, when at first we practice to deceive. T he definition of practice is: to do something habitually...it does not mean one does not know it, it means one is doing it over and over again either because they ned to learn or because that is what they do now that they have learned. The english language lacks the specificity other languages have and in fact, is the hardest language to learn( did you know that English is the result of all the other languages and was not developed on its own..)

Only in hospitals patients are there and they get the clinical training there and the experienced famous graduates and post graduate doctors are there to treat the patients and to teach th trainee doctors and to give them clinical knowledge. At Colleges / universities they are taught theory only.

Doctors need practical hands on experience from hospitals and doctors surgeries. They spent a certain amount of time in various surgeries and hospital departments of their interest in order to expand their knowledge. Much like an apprentice. They are usually called registrars and are getting a feel for certain areas before they decide if they would like to become GP's or specialists in certain areas. It doesn't mean they are any less qualified than anyone else. 'Practicing' also derives from 'general practioner' or GP, has nothing to do with inexperience.
