I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection the other day and my doctor prescribed me doxycycline. However, she told me that if i had a bacterial infection, then my boyfriend would need to be treated for it as well. My boyfriend has military insurance, but the only way he can use it is if he goes to a military dr and they aren't close enough. his new insurance hasn't kicked in yet so he has no way to see a doctor at the moment. my doctor gave me an extra refil on my prescription so i was wondering if he would be able to take this as well or if they would be giving him a different medicine to treat the infection?
There are certain STDs that both of you can get the same treatment. Most of them are anti bacterial. But best be sure still to go see a doctor if he is able to. So that he will get the proper prescription and dosage. And this is critical. Because the dose you're one might not work for him (based on medical history, etc.) and if this happens, he will build an immune system to that medication and he won't be able to get cured by that medication.
