Is G6PD disease in any relevance to dogs? A person who has this disease can or cannot have a dog as a pet?
A G6PD disease, though I have no idea what this disease is all about. I did some research regarding this disease but with no avail, I don't see how is it in relevance to dogs. Dogs? Well, I am about to give another girl a dog as a present and if her nephew, the victim of this disease is an obstacle for her to breed a dog at home, then I have to switch my plans to my other alternatives. Please, any kind souls here, explain to me about the disease or allergy of G6PD, and how are they related to dogs. Are the victims allowed to come in contact with dogs? Further information : Girl's Age : 21 Dog : Toy Poodle Age of 2 months (Health Certified) Nephew's Age : Currently unknown, approximately 6 to 9 years old Any help, will greatly be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Oh dear that's sweet of you. G6PD deficiency is a disease of lack of a certain enzyme . It's about avoiding certain medicines and foods which require this enzyme for it's degradation and taking antioxidant drugs . So it's about somethings that are oral . Don't worry it doesn't have any relation to having a dog . Go on and cheer this girl up . God bless you .
