What is the general nature of food allergies and sensitivities?? What r some common food allergens?

A food allergy and food sensitivity are different but in general terms, these occur when your immune system mistakes something that is usually harmless as harmful. As a result your immune system releases antibodies (IgE antibodies in food allergy and IgG in food sensitivity) which triggers the release of chemicals like histamine in nearby tissues that destroys the invader. The release of these chemicals such as histamine creates allergic symptoms that people commonly experience during an allergic reaction such as a skin rash, itchy eyes and runny nose for examples. The most common food allergens are cow's milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, and seafood. Wheat is also becoming a common allergen as well.
