While i was in the US NAVY as a dental tech we would use OIL OF CLOVE to help relieve a throbbing tooth ache and that might be what you might need to do also. You can purchase it at any health food store and it is not that costly. If there is a University close to where you live you might be able to get in to see a dental student who is studying to be a Dentist at a reduced or lower cost to you also. Good luck and please do not place a aspirin over the effected too the this burns the tissue and hurts after wards.

forget all that rubbish. Get some scotch whisky and swill it round the aching tooth. It ALWAYS works.

Whisky is an excellent short- term remedy for toothache.

Phone NHS Direct - if you are in pain they will find you an emergency dentist - it sounds like you have an abscess

Clove oil:Is great to use for toothaches. Apply a little on the affected tooth for some time and then rinse with warm water. Boil 5 grams of fresh peppermint in 1 cup water with a little salt. And rinse mouth well with this .Peppermint is an antiseptic and contains menthol which relives pain .Try out http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/ for more details.

Theres not much you can do until you get it fixed, you'll not find a doctor or dentist these days that will give ya nothing for pain, do like i did, pull it yourself, it don't hurt to long.

Try some Oil of Cloves from the chemists. Seek his advice. Use sparingly as it can burn the gums a little.

Tidy boy - i am so with you.... i have an abscess & tommorow is my appointment after having been in agony for 4 days - 2 paracetamol & two ibuprofen every 4 hours (although they wear off after 3) Corsodyl mouthwash (this works). Other than that mate - its a joke the nhs!

You need to be careful with Oil of Clove. It can be caustic to the surrounding tissues if you spill it. No dentist is worth his weight if he/she can't see you in an emergency situation. Find another one is my suggestion. Tooth pain that keeps you awake all night is indicative of a dying nerve, meaning you will most likely need a root canal. Another indication is pain to hot, like hot coffee or soup. Cold sensitivity is not an indication, per se, of needing a root canal, but heat sensitivity and pain when laying down is. Get treatment immediately, take ibuprofen for the pain until you do. You can call an endodontist, or root canal specialist, yourself, or ask your dentist to refer you to one over the phone. They are more likely to be able to see you immediately and will finish the job in just one visit. Good luck, there is no worse common pain than mouth pain.

go to the chemist and buy some oil of cloves and dab it with connton wool bud on the tooth its really good and takes the pain away

i think u need to ring them back first thing in the morning and get an emergency app, dont take no for an answer. clove oil is god, tastes like crap though, and copious amounts of pain killers!

It would be good to invest in some sensitivity toothpaste to help quell any other toothaches. About a year ago I had two teeth that were keeping me up at night with intense pain. I had no job at the time so unfortunately I could not afford dental care. I bought some Sensodyne Pronamel ($5-7) and after about 5 days the night pains had went away, and I was able to make it another 6 months before the pain returned (which then I had them pulled).
