can a doctor find weed in your blood in a blood test?
hey I'm 17 and i smoked a couple times, (weed) and i have a stomach ucler and i feer that if i go to the doctors they will find it in my system, and they will tell my parents. is the doctor aloud to do that? please help. and i know smoking is bad, so please don't lecture about it. thanks for your help.

There are literally thousands of blood tests that can be run - you name it and it's likely there's some kind of test for it. The thing is, though, doctors only test for whatever the patient needs done at the time. They don't run the entire book of tests because of the cost. You'd have to give your doctor a reason to test for anything unrelated to the reason for the visit. Also, there are strict patient privacy rules in place and the doctor can't break confidentiality.

Emmy Kay
Yes. I do blood tests. We test for "cannabinoids." If the doctor is ethical, he will tell you what you are being tested for. Extra tests cost extra money, so we don't do anything extra. And usually we test for that in the urine.

Seán
Doctors arent allowed to break doctor-patient confidentiality, the doctor can only lecture you about it if he asks and you admit it. If he tells your parents it's against the law
