Please help me.. I have no idea whats wrong with me.?
It all started about half a year ago and I've been dealing with it ever since. Out of nowhere I noticed that my face didn't feel normal. Following that my face would get hot flashes, and i couldn't speak words clearly or would like run out of breath. My eyes would also water, and are for the most part bloodshot. I find it hard to concentrate now and I have lost a lot of interests of mine due to feeling like this all the time. It was hard to sleep at night wondering what the Heck was wrong with me. I have gone to the doctor, who said I have GAD. This is when someone feels nervous a lot or has panic attacks. He then prescribed me with celexa to help this. The thing is I am not nervous at all, I've been going on with life as I always have I don't get it. The meds have done nothing at all. I also bought a ton of books on anxiety issues and techniques to cope with my condition. I even bought The Panic Away program by Joe Barry, which has helped millions of people with this so called GAD problem. It has to be something other than GAD. I have been eating healthier, exercising, lifting, and drinking lots of water. Taking deep breaths. Nothing has helped. I know it can't be GAD. If anyone can help me please please do. It will change my life forever if i find the cure for whatever I have. It would mean the world to me. Thank you.

Go to a different doctor and see what s/he thinks

Hey. I am nursing student. What you have described does sound a lot like GAD. With a medication like Celexa you have to wait 3-4 weeks for it to begin working. Celexa is a re-uptake inhibitor, and can take awhile for the therapeutic drug levels to reach an equilibrium. This means that input and output are equal. If you're not finding success with Celexa, your dose might not be correct, or you may require an adjunct to assist with your issues. An adjunct is a medicine that works well with another medicine to maximize your benefits. If you have an episode where you feel suddenly panicked, facial flushing, or shortness of breath there are fast acting anti-anxiety medicines like Xanax or Alprazolam that you can take every six hours as needed. If you don't think that this is the issue, then you should talk to your doctor again to try and work something out.

Ohh myy goodness. I know EXACTLY how you feel, except for the bloodshot eyes. I have a thyroid disease called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. You probably feel tired too, but associate that with not being able to sleep. It is a very difficult disease to diagnose. The key factor in telling your thyroid function is off is called TH level. Mine was normal. But the symptoms just wouldn't go away and at last one doctor but me on levovythoxine, or sythroid. It boosts the thyroid function and I have felt amazing since. Read up on it. I think you might be surprised at how many little thing you won't associate as symptoms are.... good luck!
