Is it normal for my eye to twitch a lot?
Right under my right eye I get this twitch a lot. LIke a couple times a day. It's been like this for a month now. I get about 8 hours of sleep a night, so I don't think that's the problem. Is this something I should be concerned about, and what other reasons cause this?

It sounds like you are suffering from Blepharospasm, or a twitching eye. It is caused by a dysfunction of the seventh cranial nerve. It may occur when you are stressed, tired, or subjected to bright lights and it usually happens more during the day, and gets better during sleep. It's important to eliminate caffeine, specifically coffee, tea, chocolate or any soft drinks with caffeine. Also, stop smoking if you do.

Eyelid twitches What's up with that? Blame it on stress, fatigue, too much time spent staring at your computer, excess caffeine -- even alcohol. Alone or in combination, any of these can provoke muscle spasms in the upper or lower lids. Twitches usually stop on their own, but if they're really bothersome, try warm compresses to relax the muscles, or artificial tears (because dry eye can also lead to twitching), Myrowitz says. Switching to decaf couldn't hurt, either. See your doctor if... you have a twitch that lasts more than a few weeks, which may be a sign that the eye's surface or membrane is irritated. In rare cases, twitches may completely close your eyes or come with twitching in your mouth, too, in which case you should see your doctor to rule out a neurologic condition.

Despite what you said, the answer could still be exhaustion/sleep deprivation. Depending on how active you are and how young you are and if you're going through a growth spurt, you may need anywhere from 10-12 hours of sleep every once in a while. Indulge in sleep and see what happens. Also, the exhaustion could stem from insufficient calorie consumption.

The lie for which we kill
