1. by medication 2. by eating certain types of yougurt which include a substance which reduces cholesterol. Also there are other varieties of food including this magic substance called ' plant stanoil' or similar spelling....its widely used in Ireland and advertised a lot so its usefull. 4.exercise 5.cut out fatty foods 6.eat fresh fruit and vegetables. You'll live to be a hundred!!!

The main thing is to reduce your VLDL, triglycerides and raise your HDL. If you do this, the rest will, and often does, take care of itself. Natural fats will reduce your small, dense VLDL, triglycerides, and increase your "good" HDL. Sugar, high fructose corn syrup and carbohydrates increase your small dense VLDL, your triglycerides, and lower your good HDL. VLDL is a precursor to triglycerides. Any sugar you consume or anything that turns to sugar in your body will increase the bad VLDL, triglycerides, and lower your good HDL. Grains increase the inflammatory omega-6 fatty acid in your body. When farm animals, poultry and fish are fed grain, it does the same thing, thus creating a further imbalance in our food chain. Americans are getting too much of the omega-6 fatty acid in their bodies which cause inflammation in the body and their arteries. Omega-3 is anti-inflammatory. Omega-3 and omega-6 should be consumed in a one-to-one ratio. Commercial farming has destroyed this natural balance. Polyunsaturated cooking oils don't help this balance either. Ninety percent of Americans are deficient in omega-3 fatty acids. This fatty acid is essential and critical to human survival as the human body is unable to make it. It is an "essential fatty acid". If it is never consumed in your diet, you eventually develop heart disease and other diseases. It can be fatal. The belief that natural saturated fat leads to coronary artery disease is a myth. Eat fish 3 times a week for omega-3. Eat: Walnuts (and other nuts) Wild caught Salmon Avocados Organic butter from grass-fed cows free-range eggs organic full-fat yogurt Hard cheese like Feta and Parmesan Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil Cold Pressed pure 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil Avoid Margarine, Shortening, highly refined polyunsaturated vegetable and seed oils and products that contain "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" oils like peanut butter.
