I don't think the previous answer is correct. If you feel flu-like symptons you should go to a doctor. You cannot see the fumes which kill you.

being a virus it only spends a certain time in your body after that you can either expel it or that simple flue can become a more serious problem, but if you had the proper care you probably dont have to worry about it...this time

As long as you cant see it, it should be o.k. The smell may remain for a while and you may feel dried up sinuses but if you are worried crack a window until morning.
