olhos azuis???? show de bola!!! se deve ser lindissima msm....

All I know about that is that it is impossible for parents who don't have brown eyes to produce brown eyed children. Neither my husband nor I have brown eyes and our children don't either.

john e
The father must have blue eyes.

nana .know it all

pickles

it all depends on genetics
if you have green eyes and your husband has brown eyes and you both have the gene for blue chances are you child will have blue eyes

Nope. I have blue eyes while my dad has green/brown, but my mum has blue.

Nope. My brother is living proof.

Our mom has green eyes. She had a blue-eyed father and a hazel-eyed mother.

Our dad has hazel eyes. Both of his parents had brown eyes.

Now, my brother has blue eyes. That was rather unlikely given his genetic background, but it happened. It should also be noted that he also looks almost exactly like my mom's older brother, who also inherited Grandpa's blue eyes despite having a non-blue-eyed mom.

Becca
no not at all.
its all about genetics...
there are two types of genes, i call them PRIMARY and SECONDARY (real names are escaping me at the moment).
primary genes over take all other genes no matter what. these are:black hair, brown hair, and brown eyes.
secondary genes have to be mixed with other secondary genes to even show up (though sometimes it turns out the other way). these are:blonde hair, red hair, blue eyes, green eyes, and hazel eyes.

there are many variables when it comes to genes. In your case, there was a 50:50 chance you would either have blue or green eyes, because those are both secondary genes. But if on of your grandparents had brown eyes, there would be a small chance that you could have brown eyes.

if both parents are blue eyed- then yes, there is a better chance of having a blue eyed child. But it also depends on the child's grandparents.

genetics are confusing but the simple answer is
"No, you don't need 2 blue eyed parents to have a blue eyed baby."

hope this helps!

No, it is not true. 2 brown eyed parents can have a blue eyed child. I know someone who has blue eyes, but both of her parent's eyes are brown.

ignorant fool
no, you don't always get the dominant chromosome from your parents, so you might get a characteristic that hasn't appeared in your family for generations because it wasn't dominant.

What happens with fair eyed people is that they have to inherit blue eye chromosomes from both parents because blue eyes being the most frail and prone to disease eyes they are rarely the dominant chromosome.

Since I'm on the point: do not get out without sunglasses, blue eyes are very sensitive and you have a increased risk for cataracts in later life take good care of your eyes.

no its not compulsury
its a gene work so it may be inherited frm very distant ancestors
well as recently scientists say all blue eye people have some distant common ancestor.

Absolutely not. Case in point: My mother has dark brown eyes, my father had very light blue=I have grayish/blue eyes. Here's another one: My sister has brown/green eyes, her husband has very light blue eyes= both my niece (7 years) and my nephew (2 years almost) have blue eyes. It's all a game of family genetics from the genes of both parents.

Tina Vashniche
In books on "Human Development" I have read information that gives you a better answer.

The brown eyes are dominate, but not sure of blues over greens. It depends on both partners history and on parents and grandparents eye colour on both sides in determining the babies eye colour.

nicole72ss
my mom has brown and my dad blue. I have the bluest eyes in TX

Emily K
No that is not true. Both parents just need to have one recessive trait...which you'd have no way of knowing.

No. Two brown eyed parents can even have a blue eyed child.

Nope.
I have blue eyes, my mom has brown, my dad has greenish/blue.

My husband has hazel eyes and all three of our girls have blue.

mark m
According to Darwin the colour of eyes comes mainly from the father.
