Cancer survival isn't thrilling. It's steady day to day work.

[Simply.. me]
Yes..My grandmother.
She had a pretty bad case of breast cancer. So far that, upon diagnosis..her first reaction was not to fight it..she simply didn't even want to take treatments. But, after a week or so, she eventually decided to take them.. So, she started Chemo, Had a mastectomy, and began radiation. About a year later, she was done..and Cancer free! This has all been about 2-3 years ago now..and she's got her strength back and everything, you'd never even know it happened! =D
Praise God:]

OK......my husband was diagnosed with rectal cancer back in May of 2005. They could tell from the beginning that they would be able to get it all, and they did. But he went through chemo/radiation treatments for 3 months, then had "the" surgery in September. 2 more surgeries were needed but by the end of December 2005 he was through with surgeries and was back on chemo for another couple of months. He's still not considered "cancer-free" until 5 years have lapsed, but all the checks they are constantly putting him through still show all is clear.

Any cancer survival story IS thrilling--especially to the survivor. I've had breast cancer twice. In 1999 I had the lump removed and 1 round of chemo. It stayed in remission for 2 years, then was back. Had even more removed and reconstructed. After 2 rounds of chemo (it was the 2nd round of chemo I thought was going to kill me.) I waited 3 months and had another mammogram. It still showed SPOTS. I almost had heart failure. After all that chemo it was still there. Then I had an MRI. It was gone. Another mammogram--it was gone. That was 6 years ago and I had a mammogram 4 months ago. STILL GONE.
