There is a risk factor in getting aids from oral sex, however it's not overly likely. The virus will not survive in the stomac if you swallow, and could be expelled if you spit. However, if you have any cut or stratch, no matter how small, in your mouth, the virus can get in.

Kissing is a no, you cannot get infected.

protection is always recommended for oral sex, not only for HIV but for gonorrhea and herpes as well. however, there have been no documented cases of HIV infection contracted by oral sex (that they know of, for sure).

any time blood, semen, vaginal fluid, or breast milk come in contact with a mucous membrane or tiny cut (micro abrasion) there is the potential for virus transmission (not just HIV- there is hepatitis C to worry about too!!)

during sharing pops, and most kissing, there is no blood involved. you can't get HIV from saliva!

so although the risk with oral sex is very small, it is best to use protection.

yes you can from kissing because it can transfer from spit and if u have oral sex that's even worse cause that's probably the most affected area and u should not do that unless u have a test for your partner

Think about why it is that you can get HIV from oral sex. Because you might have little cuts and scrapes inside your mouth, and if sexual fluids come into contact with these little injuries, you have contact between body fluids.

Now let's suppose that you, with little cuts in your mouth, kiss someone who also has little cuts in their mouth ...

Actually, either it would have to be some pretty big cuts or a lot of slobber swapping, but it IS possible to get HIV from kissing. I don't think light kissing would be an unacceptable risk unless your partner was just loaded with virus.

Planned Parenthood is an excellent resource for information about HIV and about condom use.

oral sex is a low risk way of transsmision, but low risk is not the same of zero, so there is a chanse to get HIV, but it is rarely. There is no documented case about transsmision by oral sex. Kissing is not a transsmision way, so there is no problem about that, unless u have a knife cutting your mouth and your boy/girl friend, at the same time and your blood get involved, in anyother way, there is no chanse to get HIV. Hope this be usefull

Oral sex can transmit HIV only if there are any open cuts in the mouth for bodily fluids to seep into. Blood or other fluids (but NOT saliva) would have to enter these open wounds to cause the infection. Keep in mind however that these cuts can be microscopic. Hence why it is not recommended for perform oral sex if you have recently brushed your teeth, or wear braces.

Kissing will almost certainly NOT transmit the HIV virus unless both people have open cuts in their mouths, and blood is exchanged into those cuts. Saliva CANNOT transmit the HIV virus, and so even intense kissing would not be risky. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact your local department of public health. Free testing is available, as well as risk reduction, and post-infection counseling.
