Some one Special
Pleurisy? help?
How can relieve pain from pleurisy? like I already took Ibuprofen but is there any way I can make the pain reside a little? help please?

you should be in hospital. Anyway you can resolve to alternative remedies as in above or use panadeine or codeine alone. Still you may experience the pain, last resort may be giving nerve block to that side. Ask your doctor

I have had pleurisy several times. The only way I was able to get pain relief was by visiting a Dr. and being prescribed antibiotics (for the infection) and prescription pain meds. I usually had to sleep in a recliner also. You can also try a heating pad for some relief. I know it's bad, but I would suggest that you seek medical help & get prescriptions. OTC meds did not help me... Will be praying for you to find relief.

Healing Oneself
Rating
Hi SOme One Special Here are some ideas to heal the issue Cause The inflammation is usually caused by lung infections. Determining the exact cause of the lung infection is vital so that it can be properly addressed. Caution: Pleurisy-like symptoms can be a sign of lung cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, or pulmonary embolism (blockage of a pulmonary artery by foreign matter). If these conditions are present, seek prompt medical attention. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Natural Cures Diet: Follow an organic diet that emphasizes fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh soups, and drink plenty of pure filtered water. Herbs: Mix equal parts of dried mullein and pleurisy root and drink as a hot infusion several times a day. In addition, combine the tinctures of pleurisy root, elecampane, and echinacea in equal parts and take one teaspoon of this mixture three times a day. Also, take either a clove or raw garlic or three capsules of garlic oil daily with each meal. Tumeric can also be helpful. Homeopathy: Useful homeopathic remedies include: Aconite, Bryonia, Apis mel., Cantharis, Kali carb., Sulfur, Arsen alb., and Phosphorus. Hydrotherapy: Hydrotherapy is the application of water, ice, steam and hot and cold temperatures to maintain and restore health. Treatments include full body immersion, steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation and the application of hot and/or cold compresses. Hydrotherapy is effective for treating a wide range of conditions and can easily be used in the home as part of a self-care program. Many Naturopathic Physicians, Physical Therapists and Day Spas use Hydrotherapy as part of treatment. *Purified water is essential for any hydrotherapy treatment. Remedies for Treating Chlorinated Bath Water offers clear instructions and recommendations. Juice Therapy: The following juice combinations can be helpful: Carrot, celery, and parsley; carrot and pineapple; and carrot, beet, cucumber, and garlic. Nutritional Supplementation: The following supplements can help relieve symptoms and address related lung infection: vitamin A, vitamin C with bioflavonoids, lung glandular, essential fatty acids, proteolytic enzymes, bromelain and colloidal silver. Alternative Professional Care If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating pleurisy: Acupuncture, Bodywork, Detoxification Therapy, Energy Medicine (Electrodermal Screening, Ondamed), Environmental Medicine, Magnetic Field Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Osteopathy, Oxygen Therapy, Qigong, Rolfing, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Best of health to you
