What Is More Beneficial Chiropractic Adjustment or a Massage?
For neck & back pain caused by poor posture: carrying, tending to & nursing a baby. Thanks =)
If you would please state WHY its better = 10 points

‚ô•‚ô•The Queen Has Spoken‚ô•‚ô•
It really depends on the condition of the spine versus muscle pain. Moist people probably have initial problems with the alignment of their back bone. Which can be helped by Chiropractic adjustment. Massage would help muscles that are tense. It's really apples and oranges...

Hi bee,

It depends on the actual problem. If you have any discs in your spine "Out of whack", a Chiropractor can adjust them and this will help with any pain/discomfort for a longer period of time. While the massage only feels good while it is being performed and maybe for a short time afterward. If the initial problem is not fixed, the pain/discomfort will only return. Like soaking in a hot bath/tub, it's a nice quick fix and relaxing, but temporary.

Most Chiropractic offices offer both adjustments and massage. If you have someone to massage your back for you, try that and see if that helps. If not, see a Chiropractor for an evaluation. They both can be costly if done on a regular basis, so knowing which one is actually beneficial would be better. Especially if you are going to pay cash and do this regularly. If you have insurance, check to see if they will cover Chiropractic services after pregnancy. The Chiropractor may even submit this as the reason for needing the care so that insurance may cover it as necessary medical care instead of it being considered a "Luxury".

Now for the new bundle of joy! If you are carrying him/her around often just because (I know they are hard to put down...Too cute!), then check into one of the carriers you wear around your front/back. They also help with posture. And you can continue to spoil him/her as you should, Ha!

Also, with the bending into the crib/ bassinet, try bending at the waist instead of your middle back (Hope that make sense), and use your arms and legs more when lifting.

And hey, If all else fails....You can still always get that hot bath in for a little mommy time and relaxing to soothe your muscles while he/she is sleeping.

Hope this helps a bit, good luck and take care!

Enjoy that precious little baby! Congratulations!
