I had a car accident three years ago and lost my leg above the knee as a result of the accident.?
I have severe phantom pain and would like to know if anyone else is dealing with this? I have been to the doctor many times with this issue and nothing can be done for me. Does anyone know of relief for this pain? Thank you.

... Above the knee? Don't you mean below the knee?

Anyways, this is a specialist issue. TENS is one treatment that may alleviate phantom pain, though, and you should probably ask your doctor or a specialist about that.

I have a friend that lost his foot as a result of a motorcycle accident..He often says that his foot itches or his toes hurt..The nerves that lead to your leg and foot are still intact..They are severed and your brain can interpret the nerve message of pain in a way that makes you feel as if it is your foot or leg that hurts. The pain is VERY real and you may want to talk to Dr about this..My friend has a pain medicine to take when this occurs..Tell your Dr that the pain is real..People that have this always need something to help..It can wreck your nerves and it isn't necessary..The pain you feel is real..(I just talked to my friend on the phone before I answered you).
