Good shoes for a medical student?
I am a medical student and previously had surgery on both feet to correct severe flat feet that included lengthening my Achilles tendon and placing metal implants in my ankles. This summer, I am going to be standing up for ~8 hours a day following local physicians. Today was my first day, and after just 2.5 hours, my feet were throbbing, and by the end of the day, I felt I could hardly walk. Anyway, what are some good shoes that I could try? I've looked into the "Gravity Defyer" shoes, but I've heard that they tend to make squeaking sounds (which I am particularly sensitive to). Has anyone had any experience with these or similar shoes? Thanks so much for your help!

Hi there, Have you tried some special orthopedic shoes, or the nursing shoes (that are especially made for standing for over 8 hours at a stretch)? Those would be great for you, you can probably get some or at least medical suppply and uniform stores that sell them, just google the locations. Hope this helps.
