Do I have hypoglycemia?
Ever since I can remember, I have always started to shake when I am hungry. Once I start to shake, and I don't eat something, I start to feel faint. On a day when I am somewhat active, I have to eat about every three hours, or I will feel VERY faint and lethargic. This is really bothersome on school days (I start school at 8:00 and don't eat until 2:00), and I get SO shaky that I can't play my violin (my orchestra class is before lunch). Do I have hypoglycemia? I am 17, and this has practically happened my whole life. Could it be my eating habits? I tend to eat only organic fruits and vegetables. I try not to eat much meat, and I am trying to take out any artificial sweeteners in my diet. I don't dink carbonated beverages either. I want to eat only natural foods. Please do not criticize my eating habits because of your personal beliefs. I am only stating my diet for medical reasons

It sounds like hypoglycemia. However, what the cause is should be revealed and treated. I would suggest you to see an Internist or an Endocrinologist to have your blood insulin levels closely monitored.

Well one of the first things you need to do is make sure you are drinking enough water and that your eating enough calories. You should be eating a minimum of 1500 calories a day. Thats a minimum. If your doing both of those, you should see your doctor to have a fasting glucose and A1C drawn. The glucose will measure the amount in your blood and the A1C will measure how your body is reacting to the glucose in your blood. If you are hypoglycemic/diabetic, its best to find out and treat early. It is treatable and controllable, especially since it sounds like you are on a diabetic friendly diet already. Good luck

Sounds like it could be hypglycemia. Or just hunger =)
