Does Anxiety cause laziness and tiredness and how do you stop it????

This is an interesting question. The short answer would be no on the first and yes on the second part. Let me elaborate. It is not exactly that anxiety makes lazy, but it can paralyze you. Constant fear or even severe worrying may inhibit yor motivation to take steps in any direction, because you may fear the outcome of your decisions will make matters worse. One way to avoid that is by not facing the decisions and instead seek idle distraction (like YA perhaps?). Exhaustion, on the other hand, is a very common symptom of fear. If we are talking occasional panic attacks, it may even be a very significant side effect. It's really easy to understand: you are under a lot of tension and your body requires lots of energy to maintain such a high activity. Muscles get cramped because you flex them without being aware of it. You may experience sleep deprivaion and if you sleep lack certain sleep phases, resulting in more tiredness. I would suggest that you (or who ever else it is you know who experiences anxiety) should certainly consider seeking professional help. Medication won't be necessary, but can be helpful in certain cases. I hope this helps, good luck.

not anxiety, but depression does. there's a lot of medications out there that can help it, like zoloft, prozac, paxil, many ways that can help you, go to a doctor and tell him you have anxiety and depression and he will prescribe you with a good dosage

Anxiety does cause tiredness, especially when accompanied by twitching or pacing or fidgeting. The laziness I am not so sure about, but I do know that depression can make it hard to even get out of bed. You have to find something to do that relaxes you before you drive yourself crazy.

Constant anxiety definitely wears a person down, without a doubt.I guess you need to look at ways to attack the anxiety and take care of yourself.

Yes it does. You can help it with exercise. The body produces endorphins (natural pain killers) in response to exercise. It has a mental effect as well as a physical one. It helps a ton. Also, sitting in a hot tub, sauna, or steam room does great things for anxiety and depression.

Most of us go through some type of anxiety and its a sensation of worthlessness so that why you would feel tired and withdrawn. The way I deal with it is that I pray and speak to God in the name of Jesus and I feel that something special called motivation for living, and an overwhelming sense of peace, and the satisfaction of knowing that I am under the hand and care of the most powerful God in existence, and all those bad feelings and fears go away. I think so. When my hormones were all out of whack, I was tired all the time and it made me feel lazy. I also had a TON of anxiety. I could barely go out in public.

If u do not get enough sleep anxiety may cause u to feel tired.

I used to be REALLY worried about everything. If you have an open mind at all, read "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. It is a wonderful book and it helped me a lot.

You can get a prescription of something called Lazapram for the anxiety...as for the tiredness and laziness, well, the tiredness can result from being anxious all day, but the laziness is all you.
