Can swallowing splinters from chewing on a toothpick harm you?

Jessica
I question whether or not you'd actually even be able to swallow a splinter. It would probably lodge itself into your mouth or throat or tongue and cause a splinter there, you probably wouldn't actually be able to swallow it. But if you theoretically could, no, I doubt it would harm you. Your stomach acids would get rid of it, and it's very small - it wouldn't case any harm.
