when any of your electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride are off, the cells in your body are unable to work like normal - the action potential may be altered and the heart may beat slower than normal or faster than normal. in your case supraventricular (meaning above the ventricle) so the atria, is tachycardiac (pumping faster than normal)
