How can a person's physiological response to a heart attack help them survive?
I'm doing a paper on a case study. The man, John Doe, is 55 years old, has high cholesterol, and has experienced frequent chest pains, profuse sweating, dizziness, and shallow breathing.

These are the questions I have to answer:
1) What physiological response helped John survive his heart attack?
2) What role did the immune system play, if any? and
3) How has John's blood flow been affected by his heart attack?

Well, I'm not a doctor, but... typically, if you have a good outlook about something or pure determination, your goal will be realized. If it is surviving, for example, you will notice in survival stories (heart attacks, being mauled by a bear, etc...) that people who are determined or just plain have a lot of adrenalin will tend to survive more often than the pessimists who just lay there waiting to die or hoping that someone will come to them, instead of the other way around.

I don't know about the immune system's role in heart attacks, I'm not sure if there is one...?

His blood flow has been decreased, and his heart may have been scarred.

1.) I agree with the person below on this one your outlook on it (will to survive, stuborness, etc) could help you through it.
2.) The Immune system has little to now involvement in a heart attack. However I could be wrong.
3.) Yes.. A heart attack cuts off blood flow to sections of the heart.
