Can a sinus infection increase your pulse rate? And how do you know if you have a sinus infection?

Pressure is your head around the nose and forehead. When you blow your nose, it looks like vaseline. You need antibiotics.....can't get around that. The 3 days one works good.

Any infection can affect your pulse rate. A sinus infection, untreated, can cause big problems. I know a coach in Arizona who lost an eye due to a sinus infection.

Sinus infection are usually accompanied by thick green mucus and painful areas on the face. It may feel like the face is bruised and when the face is palpated (touched) distinct areas of pain are noted. If you are in otherwise good health, the infection may resolve itself. On the other hand, it would be unwise not to seek medical attention. Any infection can cause increased heart rate. This is do in fever, dehydration, and the body's attempt to rid itself of the infection by bumping up metabolism.
