can someone die from vertigo?

Tom D
Typically not. Vertigo is another term for spinning or dizziness. You need to find the source that is causing the vertigo. On the most part it is benign however disorders such as Acoustic neuroma, Cerebral neoplasms, vertebral artery occlusion can also cause vertigo and can be life threatening. Find out what is causing your vertigo

I have severe episodes of vertigo from a vestibular disorder. I have had it for a long time. I have not died. I have been hurt from falls and no longer drive due to the chances of having an accident. I have had severe nausea and vomiting caused by the vertigo as well. This has on occasions resulted in severe dehydration requiring treatment by a doctor. From such experiences I have determined that the vertigo itself will not kill me, however, the side effects of the vertigo could do so if left untreated. If you are having severe vertigo frequently you should see a doctor.
