Why is breast cancer so widespread?
It just seems like an abnormally high amount of women get it. Do you think the environment and what we ingest causes it? Or is it just a freak thing that happens to random people?

A lot has to do with the agressive use of media to fundraise for breast cancer.

My sister had a small, harmless breast lump removed thirty years ago and she was invited last year to put on a pink shirt with "survivor" on it for some sort of march. She pointed out that it wasn't cancer and someone said "well, it might have been" and to wear the shirt anyway.

I'm not denigrating people with cancer but exagerating such a thing doesn't help anyone.

Back in the early 60's there was a man that won the Nobel peace prize for not only the dianosis of cancer but also the cure of cancer. See the government dont want us to know about this because they are run by the drug companies. Basically we are lacking vitamin D and the governmant regulates us to only 200 IU of vitamin D per day when we really should be taking aleast 10,000 IU's of vitamin D per day. You can get vitamin D from the sun or also here is another way you can get it naturally. www.ITVShoppingCenter.com

Pumas for McCain!
diet and environment like second hand smoke and chemicals and pesticides that disrupt a natural balance of hormones...this is why ALL CANCER is up and RARE cancers are diagnosed even more now, like cancer of the pancreas (Patrick Swayze)

I believe a variety of things contribute. The environment, stress, family history, health. My Mom been battling it for years and most likely it will be the thing that takes her life. I have to watch out for it myself. I don't believe it's just a random thing MOST of the time. I know diet, exercise, vitamins, and staying healthy mentally CAN greatly reduce your chances of getting any kind of cancer.

No, I think it's just that we now have the technology to detect it, and that sends the percentages up. I don't believe it's caused by outside influences...it is both completely random, and hereditary.

If we truly knew the answer to that question, a lot less people would have it.
