I had an extreme allergic reaction to fish last night ( I asked the manager if the dish had fish in it and he said no, after I already took a bite he came back and said "oh yeah, it does.") We ended up going to the emergency room where the sweeling got worse on my tongue, cheeks, eye and throat. That was 24 hours ago and my eye and cheeks are still swollen. How much longer?
It should go down slowly over the next 12-24 hours. You can continue to take benadryl to help with the swelling. If it doesn't go completely down with in 48 hours of the reaction, I would call your doctor to be sure you don't need to be seen again.
