The inner corner of both eyes is swollen, red and hurts a lot...why?
So both inside corners of my eyes are swollen. It is causing much discomfort. What is wrong? Will it go away? Is it serious? I also have been wearing contacts for over a year so i know that is not the problem. I also believe I am allergic to my new mascara as both my eyes were SUPER bloodshot for a few days, even after discontinuing its use. Is this linked at all?

The fact you have worn contacts for a year could contribute to the eye problem. See an MD opthamologist. Also, you may have blocked tear ducts and or infections from contact lens solutions, some contain thimerasol, used as a preservative., I'm allergic to it, it's not in L'Oreal voluminous Mascare, but is in many other cosmetics, I learned by trial and error and then was skin tested after 20 yrs and it showed thimerasol, it's also in ENT otc solutions, ear drops, nasal sprays. You may have sinus infection, too. Please see a doctor.

hate to say it but probably pink eye........ go to your doctor

they could be, but might get swollen and red because of lack of sleep and all the makeup i wear on my eyes.
