Should fluoroquinolones be avoided for people with penicillin allergy?

Iczer
Rating
A Flouroquinolone can be used as a substitute for penicillin in those with an allergy.

"In patients with a history of severe penicillin allergy, combination therapy can provide adequate empirical coverage. Clindamycin combined with aztreonam or a fluoroquinolone is an effective combination."

Also:
"For patients allergic to beta-lactams, a fluoroquinolone or chloramphenicol may be considered."
