I found out yesterday that I'm allergic to Penicillin. What is penicillin and does this effect anything at all (like not being able to take certain meds etc.)?...
How can I make my eyes stop itching?
I have seasonal allergies and they make the inside corner of my eyes so itchy.
I take allergy medicine but it only helps the sneezing & stuff and not the itchy eyes.
Is there anything I can do to make them stop itching?
Also, should I take my contacts out when my eyes get like this?
did you try eye drops? those seem to work for me most of the time
Itchy, red and irritated eyes are a common symptom of allergies. While eyedrops may provide temporary relief, they can actually worsen the problem in the long run.
There are many cheap and effective remedies for reducing your body's overall allergic load. If you're allergic to one substance, chances are you're also allergic/sensitive to others. Keeping an allergy-friendly home by using a dehumidifier in damp areas like bathrooms, keeping pets out of the bedroom and taking herbal antihistamines like butterbur can provide immense relief. Plants generally tend to release the most pollen between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m., so avoid outdoor activities during these times if possible.
For a more in-depth view, check out my article, "Remedies for Seasonal Allergies," which includes these and many other tips.
First step is to STOP ITCHING. When you itch, pollen and bacteria from your hands get into your eyes and will just make them itch even more.
Secondly, it's wise to carry around eye-drops. They can rinse your eye of the pollen already in them and recover moisture.
I am not aware of any medicines that are specifically for allergy-eyes, but I hope that helps.
Yeah take out ur contacts. It might make it more irritated. Ask an optimologist for special eye drops or get over the counter eyedrops. It will take a week for the eye drops to start working. Also wash or rinse your eyes regularly. :) hope that helps
